  11. This is a repost to ask all new USR Sportster PnP 33.6K modem owners
  12. if they can duplicate the same problem I've witnessed. Turn your modem
  13. on, make sure you have a phone plugged into the jack on the back of
  14. the modem. Now pick up the phone so that it is offhook. Does the Autoanswer
  15. LED on the modem come on? Hang up the phone. Does the LED still stay on?
  16. Even with the modem set to ATS0=0. This is unusual, because I have a
  17. friend that has a Sportster 28.8K, V.34 that has the 4/95 ROM, and he
  18. doesn't have this problem. So could this be a design flaw in these newer
  19. Sportster 28.8Ks that have a totally redesigned motherboard and 33.6K 
  20. ROM? Other than that the modem works GREAT...I get 28.8K connects nearly
  21. 95% of the time when I call my ISP...So if there are others, experiencing
  22. this problem please tack your acknowledgement to this post, or send me
  23. some mail. So far I've had two other people to agree with me....

  26. As of 1/29/96 I have received about 10 responses from other Sportster
  27. 33.6K owners witnessing the same problem. If there are others out
  28. there experiencing this problem, please attach your acknowledgement
  29. to the end of this post, or reply to me by email. Then after a number 
  30. of days I will collect all articles and send them to USR Technical 
  31. Support via their BBS directly, since hanging on the phone for 30+ 
  32. minutes to speak to someone who hasn't a clue as to what your talking 
  33. about..
